R3d Cup — 04 / About
Zurich Eats. Nairobi Creates.
RedCup is a community and ecosystem of young people from Eastlands, Nairobi, who are building something for themselves and for the community. Some are journalists, artists, videographers, designers, software developers, entrepreneurs and creators from different backgrounds.
We are based in Zürich, but our roots are in Eastlands. Through projects like Samosa Drop and other ventures, we are building resources and opportunities that benefit our community both in Kenya and abroad.
The goal is not handouts. The goal is opportunities.
Be who you are.
When you join RedCup, you continue doing what you do best. If you're a journalist, remain a journalist. If you're an artist, remain an artist. We don't change who you are. The difference is that now you're part of a network of people who support each other's growth.
Community, not charity.
If a member has a challenge around transport, logistics or movement for a project, and we have the resources to help, we step in. Not because it's charity, but because that's what community is about — supporting our own where we can.
Bridge the distance.
We want to build a bridge between the diaspora and young people in Eastlands through creativity, business, technology and culture. Zurich eats. Nairobi creates.
Bigger than ourselves.
We're still building the foundation, but we're looking for people who believe in the vision and are ready kujenga kitu bigger than themselves.
Eastlands creatives begin organising in Zürich. The idea takes shape.
